PARAKH

Avalon has partnered with NCERT PARAKH to develop a comprehensive web application aligned with the transformative goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Established by NCERT on February 8, 2023, PARAKH focusses on enhancing India’s educational assessment framework through holistic and competency-based approaches. Avalon’s contribution includes designing an advanced web platform to support PARAKH's key initiatives: the creation and dissemination of Holistic Progress Cards (HPCs), the execution of large-scale evaluations such as the National Achievement Survey (NAS), now known as PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan, State Educational Achievement Survey (SEAS), Foundational Learning Study (FLS), and efforts to standardize assessment practices across India’s diverse educational boards.

In addition to the core website, Avalon has also developed custom OMR templates to ensure accurate data capture. The newly developed PARAKH Scanner Web Application, a tool that digitizes all the responses received from the students through OMR Sheets, will generate the results and publish them into the various reports. The PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan survey assesses students in grades 3, 6, and 9 across various states, incorporating detailed questionnaires for students, teachers, and schools. Avalon’s robust web solutions ensure accurate data collection and reporting, supporting PARAKH's mission to improve educational outcomes nationwide.

Avalon is assisting NCERT PARAKH in conducting three pilot phases to test the software's handling and processing. These pilot phases will involve different states:

  • Pilot Phase 1: Haryana, Chandigarh, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Himachal Pradesh
  • Pilot Phase 2: Rajasthan, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu
  • Pilot Phase 3: Puducherry, Bihar, and Tamil Nadu

NCERT PARAKH has scheduled the pan-India launch of the PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan survey for November 2024. This nationwide exercise will span across all 28 states and 8 union territories in India. It will involve approximately 150,000 schools, with the participation of around 7 million students and teachers. Avalon will support NCERT during the implementation phase.
