Avalon/CSF has developed the ChadData portal for the National Statistical Office of Chad (INSEED) to support in the strengthening of the national data systems to monitor national priorities and the SDGs. UNICEF has been a string technical partner of INSEED, be it for financial or for technical support.
The INSEED team was one of the early countries to use DevInfo to monitor the MDGs and they had a very comprehensive database, called ChadInfo. In order to benefit from the host of features of the Data For All toolkit, they decided to transition to DFA. Their ChadData (rebranded from ChadInfo) portal contains a host of tools namely for data dissemination, namely the DFA Dashboard and the DFA Mobile app.
The ChadData mobile app available for Android and IOS phones has been highly appreciated by all the partners due to its innovative nature. The fact that it can also be easily used without internet connection makes it a very handy data dissemination tool in a country like Chad where internet penetration and accessibility is still a challenge.
The INSEED team has been extensively trained on how to manage and use these various tools to ensure national ownership. The official launch of this platform took place in early 2024.
