Avalon assisted UNICEF implement the EQUIST model for public health counterparts around the world. This initiative created impact and boosted marginal cost of life-saving interventions, a success achieved through bottleneck reduction and implementation of evidence-based strategies.
Through an ongoing partnership with UNICEF, Avalon is providing software development services to introduce an enhancement to extend the focus to Adolescent Health. This theme will include indicators in the Situational Analysis module, which provides a better opportunity for analysis of adolescent health in the country. Sub-themes like sexual and reproductive health, violence, and unintentional injury shall help decision-makers understand the situation and problems faced by the youth of their country.
Furthermore, EQUIST will be enhanced with a new theme on HIV/AIDS. This theme will assist in modeling new HIV infections and AIDS-related deaths averted based on AIM and/or Goals tools. These tools model the scaling up of life-saving HIV/AIDS-related preventative and curative interventions.
In addition, Avalon will continue to provide technical support to country's implementation of EQUIST and to the development and strengthening of the global repository of data that drives the EQUIST model.
